Acoma pottery is known for being intricately decorated. The pieces are also generally large, and used for storage purposes. This vase was identified by Harmon as unique in Indian craft. It is decorated with the traditional squash pattern but is a Grecian shape that the fourteen year old potter copied from a history book.
