Above this begins an arch covered in carvings, and on it, the venerated images of Our Lady with her Divine Child in her arms, and two winged figures kneeling in a fine act of prayer can be seen. The fresco painting has a wonderful exquisiteness, and it is lamentable that it has been so battered by time. On top of the arch lies the salvific cross. Enclosed between the two aforementioned pillars is an arch, inside of which the mortal remains of the Christian saint are kept, resting peacefully, which was a tradition that dominated the fifteenth century. There is an urn decorated with festoons, and above this. He was honored for his above average prowess in handling public affairs in the forum with the sincerity of one who truly loved his country. And of course he loved it, because it had the desired experience in the difficult years towards the end of the Florentine Republic, divided by factions and torn by external and internal wars.
A little lower, hath another body from the same family, the grandson of the above, who entered into eternity at a dear, young age. Both sides of this humble memory are written in Greek; two mottos alluding to the departed, that sound the following way in our discourteous language: WORSHIPPER OF THE HOME BUT MINDFUL OF THE TOMB. And these are the words that should be imprinted into every mortal’s soul.

Sincere and also the author of this monument located in the cloister of the said church of St. Mary Above Minerva. If, however, we do not detect his work and gave the name , well it reveals the prowess of him, and that taste for ornamentation and architecture for exquisite style with which I have dealt with figures in bas-relief , this was reputation for his work in one of the best of that time. Easy as a whole so that the author seems not to place and will study hard to compose it ; to lower and one of the two pillars of the Corinthian order sources are collected by two pedestals where the arms of the deceased cardinal , end I gave to a architrave with frieze and cornice which closes the monument . Between the pillars, on the base, and precisely on a pedestal adorned with small pods, you see a magnificent carvings flanking urn with a plaque, which in a nutshell is manifest as the one that lies above it in bishop's robes were the cardinal of S. And protector of the Church and of Preachers. And it was these Cardinal Peter Ferrici for his doctrine so much forward to the estimate of Popes Paul II and Pope Sixtus IV to be into the management of state affairs, reveals another inscription incised on the base. The cause us to back and top of the urn in seven mirrors, the three largest of which contain two of a graceful candelabrum, one, the middle one, a cross. On these compartments scrolls a frame to put ovules and pods and Marente in the two pillars. And the space between it and the lintel and filled by a bezel where you admire the Virgin Mary with the divine son Jesus placed between two angels that genuflect before. From these figures we learn as looks matter sometimes come alive under the hand of the artist to make believe for a moment that descended to inform the spirit. This happens when the author rose with the mind up to the mentioned transforming of the power in the hand of marble in almost convey their thoughts. Of course those are marble figures, but there was in their faces that I do not know if that is not pure and radiant and earthly thing, perhaps a reflection where the eternal light of God to beautify the face of the heavenly creatures.</text>

<text>In the old church of San Sabina, built according to some in 425 under Pope Celestine in that place where the saint has his father’s house, but not consecrated shortly after the pontificate of Sisto III., exists this monument. It is located in the chapel of S. Rosario, made to manufacture at the expense of Cardinal Valentino d’Ausia del Poggio buried here.
This distinguished cardinal was born in Zativa in the kingdom of Valencia, and it became clear for many doctrines and for the sanctity of matters. Acting as advisor to the King of Aragon, he went as ambassador of several principles. Sixtus IV declared him the governor of Rome and on May 17, 1473 made him cardinal. For he was invited as ambassador to Fredrick III and the kings of Hungary, Bohemia, and Poland to excite them in taking up arms against the Turks. I was received on behalf of Pope Eleonora of Aragon that was going to marry the Duke of Ferrara. In 1476, he was the administrator of Capaccio, archbishop of Monreale, and administrator of Zaragoza. He attended decorously the diet of Frankfort. (Abbellì) and factories grew in his titular church of S. Sabina. He was largely protected by his scholars and writers with their own fortunes, and was so liberal to the poor by naming his heirs in his will. Man truly esteemed and highly commendable, as long as the virtues of the heart, if nothing else except for voice, will follow to have the first place among the people.
The friends that were interpreters of his last will, as gathered from the epigraph, made him raise this monument, a work remarkable for agreement with the architecture, for the elegance of ornaments and for goodness of sculpture. The base has the inscription and the weapons of the diseased: the pillars of the four cardinal virtues to the left, justice and fortitude, and in front, prudence and temperance. </text>

In that state of what was highly to be wished that a firm and prudent man would take the pontifical chair. And such was Martin V, accompanied on the day of his coronation, which was on December 22, 1417 by the votes and congratulations of all his people, and led to the church to the reins of his horse by the Emperor and the Elector Palatine. The industry and the zeal of the Pope, if you do not see the hand of God, they would have the marvelous.
He finished the Council of Constance: Public bubble against the Hussites of Bohemia. He summoned another council at Pavia, who thereafter was transported to Siena and was finally dissolved without any conclusion. He called the Jubilee in 1425, and after having made the most difficult chores of the Church took care of the beautification and decoration material of the city, which owes him a lot of improvements. So he died on 21 February 1431 for 63 years after having governed the Church 13 years 3 months and 12 days.
His monument was placed on the floor that he had built at his own expense, in the middle of the ship and much greater at the confession. Today it is the same site, but several palms (sottera), and you go down to two beautiful marble stairs. The author of this burial was a Florentine Simon, brother of the famous Donatello, and it is said that he had invited him to Rome to examine the pattern of this' work before you melt it. It composed of a grand marble urn, while marble set on sockets and covered by a sheet of bronze subdues of very beautiful ornamental sculptures and bas-relief with the image in the middle of the whole dead Pontiff. It 'two longer sides of the case are carved between two frames very well carved four winged putti, supporting two wreaths in relief which are carved the arms of the Colonna family. It 'minor sides there are putti with one crown and an escutcheon.
Although this monument is not to be compared with the best works of the century that followed him, the whole time the artist seems to us worthy of praise for the simplicity of the invention and many decorative pieces very well conceived.

And these are the words that should be imprinted into every mortal’s soul.</text>
